FOR ALL THE THINGS ON YOUR MIND
From a fleeting thought to a thing
you’re finally ready to start.
There’s a place for it here.
Headings, lists, code, and the occasional big thought. Write in Markdown, with formatting that gives your words room to breathe.
Give ideas a tag. Link one thought to another. Follow the thread when you’re ready.
Bring the photo, the PDF, the little piece of inspiration. Keep it close to the idea.
YOURS, THROUGH AND THROUGH
Your library lives on your Mac, ready with or without a connection. Take your notes with you using portable exports and library backups.
A few good things to knowA FEW THINGS, BEFORE YOU SETTLE IN
Cub is a native Markdown note-taking app for Mac. It brings writing, tags, linked notes, attachments, and search into one personal notebook. It’s an independent app with its own name and design.
Yes. The Mac developer preview is available for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 14 or later. It’s an early build, ad-hoc signed and not notarized, so macOS may block it from opening normally. Use a backup when trying early software.
Yes. Writing, organizing, and searching use a local library on your Mac. You can get started without creating a Cub account.
Cub supports Markdown, plain text, and TextBundle import, including compatible Bear exports. Export options include Markdown, plain text, TextBundle, HTML, and PDF. Library backups keep notes, metadata, and attachments together.
The app includes password-protected notes and sync foundations. Live iCloud synchronization and biometric unlocking are not configured in this preview. Protected note titles and tags remain visible; protect sensitive files you exported separately.
Cub is focused on the Mac for now. iPhone and iPad apps are planned after the Mac release. There is no mobile download available yet.
